You got that called talent :| most of the people kill for it!!!
It's a nice self-portrait. Your handling of the figure and rendering of flesh tones are improving with every painting. I think the larger panel helps here. Sometimes smaller is just too small. Don't go in to fix anything. Better to start another painting and let this be a progress marker. Congratulations and have fun at your culture show! :)
Beautiful! How I wish I were a better artist to help you become a better artist!(not that this painting isn't excellent! Its just that you seek critiques which I cannot give);)

....I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the children. If we accept that a mother can kill her child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?
What a sweet thing to say! You are already making my day just by letting me know what you think. No need for critiques. I am a hard enough critique for myself sometimes (:

I guess you are right about that. And then again, it is more fun to make something big, somehow, especially if it turns out well! About the flesh tones, I am so glad you think it is good. The tones are always different from painting to painting depending on what light I want on the subject, and which colours I want on the painting, however this time it was particularly hard to get the right colour to fit the light and the rest. But right now I am very happy with the flesh, so I am so happy to hear you agree!

You make my day, my friend. At the moment my ears are about to fall off to make room for my smile :D

As am I. It is all part of the process. Hope to see some more of your paintings soon! :#1:

A very important part. It is always good to be self critical, even though sometimes you just have to let it go, and bring the knowledge with you to the next work you do ;)

I love the shadowy mood and pleasant warm colours. The expression is complicated -- that's good :)
I love the warm colors and the birds flying away... great feeling!

To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
