O Fortuna, Rota tu Volubilis
Third in the series I am working on at the moment, though with not much association in theme, as the other two are zodiacs, but neither will the next two be associated, so...! The title is supposed to mean "O Fortune, you rotating wheel", and the drawing itself is a depiction of Fortuna as I see her. She is depicted with the symbols of fortune and luck: the pig, the clover, and of course her wheel of fortune. I hope you let me know what you think of it.

Ink on paper,
A5.

---

I have been slightly inspired by Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana". If you have not yet heard this piece of music, you definitely should. I highly recommend it, also if you do not like classical music.
Here are the lyrics of the first part "O Fortuna".

O Fortuna
velut luna
statu variabilis,
semper crescis
aut decrescis;
vita detestabilis
nunc obdurat
et tunc curat
ludo mentis aciem,
egestatem,
potestatem
dissolvit ut glaciem.

Sors immanis
et inanis,
rota tu volubilis,
status malus,
vana salus
semper dissolubilis,
obumbrata
et velata
michi quoque niteris;
nunc per ludum
dorsum nudum
fero tui sceleris.

Sors salutis
et virtutis
michi nunc contraria,
est affectus
et defectus
semper in angaria.
Hac in hora
sine mora
corde pulsum tangite
quod per sortem
sternit fortem,
mecum omnes plangite!

Hehe, you are not the first one. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! If you want it as a tattoo, you can use it with my permission as long as you buy a print of it. :)

What kind of material are you using for this sketch is it just graphite? Or is it ink?

Found your drawings from [link]

It's a little hard for me to imagine that this is simply ink on paper. I can't make such strait lines. =/

Looks like you like fertility , romance and viking/middleage style. It's cool. :D

Thank you so much for the comment. If you are interested in ink drawings, I have some much more complicated ones in my gallery. Newer works, that is :)
