Quattour
This is a board game I designed, and executed in association with a school assignment. It is still not completely finished, but you will not be able to see the change I make to it, so it is fine. I had some major problems finding a category for this, but I guess it came out fine, however let me know if you have any better suggestions on category.

The game is called "Quattour", which in Latin means "four", and this represents the game where the theme is the four peoples: Greeks, Romans, Vikings and Merovingians fighting against eachother in a chess-based game. It can be played by either four people or two (three is possible, but not recommended), and if you play two people you can choose wether to use two teams each or only pick one team each. As the greeks were the earliest of these, they start the game.

(More rules will come if people are interested, and when I get the energy to write it down.)

----

Pieces done in white, dark brown, and terracotta clay burned two times, last time with glaze, and with dark green felt underneath not to scratch the board.
Board is made with a thick wooden board, decorated using a burning-pen, brown wood paint, and eventually varnished.
Feet of the board is fine up-side down turned candle-holders decorated using a burning pen, and varnished.
Box for the pieces (not on the picture yet) was bought pre-made, but then decorated with the same patterns of the board, with a burning-pen, and then varnished.

Rules Edit 20th August

The game can be played preferrably by four or two people (though three is also possible):
- Four people, one team each. Greek starts.
- Two people, one team each. Greek or most anchient team starts.
- Two people, two allied teams each. The one with the Greek team starts, but can move any piece from any of his teams.
- Free variations with three people, one team each, or one with two allied teams, etc.

White team, the Greeks, always start the game, being the people that came first of the four.
Goal is to defeat all the other teams by killing their king.
When you have the possibility to take down a king, unlike chess you never say "check", you say nothing and this makes you need to be particularly careful about your king, because if someone kill your king, your whole team has to leave the table, and the other ones can continue, until only one team remains.

Pawns with head moves 2 or 1 step vertically and horizontally. (Except first pawn which can move 1, 2 or 3 steps no matter which type of pawn)
Pawn without head moves 1 step vertically and horizontally.
Towers (as chess) moves unlimited steps horizontally and vertically.
Animals move three steps forward, and one to the side, in any direction except diagonally.
Commanders (On both sides of the king) (as Queen in chess) moves unlimited in any direction horizontally, vertically and diagonally.
King (as chess) moves only one step to any direction.

Winner does of course get eternal glory.. (:

Wow! This is not only extremely creative, it is quite well executed too! It looks very fun to play, and I really adore the pieces. Each culture has unique pieces that represent them. Job well done.
