Second in the series of "The Keeper of Fantasy" comes "The Chocolate", a painting about the chocolate's ways to enchant the human. I have several thoughts about this, so the painting is not meant as to say one thing, but rather invite to discussion and thinking. Chocolate in itself gives a whole lot of beneficial vitamins and substances to the body, and can help many problems, while it also releases endorfins in you to make you happy. However there is also the chocolate that comes with the sugar; where you could get a real "sugar high" if you ate too much. Being good or bad. This series of painting I am working on is about substances and people's freedom, really. What is acceptable, and what not? And why? Who makes the rules? Is the prohibition of many "drugs" better than a prohibition of chocolate would, considering how many people die of obesity every year, compared to the ones who die form a drug overdose. Who says sugar is not a drug? Anyway, I am not wanting to state this to be either good or bad. It is what it is, and there are many things to think about and reflect on. Should a person be allowed to choose their own joys? Even if it does cost them their life.. it is their life, isn't it? If you live a short life here on earth, do you think it is fair for someone else to set the rules for what you can experience and achieve?
These are just some thoughts.
Yeay for chocolate, anyhow! Yumm!
I wanted the feel of the window and the odd placement of the butterflies, and the twirling of the trees, to represent the euphoric state she reaches as she eats the chocolate. There is a fine line between what is real and what looks enchanted.
Thanks to one of my best friends, for being able to pose for this painting! You are my chocolate goddess!
